"Richard Worley"

Worley set himself up in piracy in a very small way with only an open boat and eight men. He had a keen eye for detail and soon achieved remarkable success although his career only lasted six months.
He was captured while in port refitting his ship at Charleston and sentenced to death the following day.

"Christopher Condent"

He was born in the late 1690's in Plymouth, England and had a very lucrative pirate business in the East. After a considerable haul, Condent and forty other members of his crew sailed to the island of Boubon where they negotiated with the Governor for a French pardon. Twenty or more of the men settled on the island, but Condent went on to marry the Governor’s sister-in-law, travel to France, settle down in Brittany and to become a wealthy merchant.

Emanuel Wynne, the French pirate, looted and plundered in the Caribbean. He was the first known pirate to fly the Jolly Roger and his design incorporated an hourglass to signify to his prey that only by timely surrender could they evade death.
